Thursday night
Once again I find myself sitting in my recliner watching Iron Chef America. Tonight's "secret ingredient", which really isn't all that secret since they've been telling us all week what it would be, is hamburger. Hmmmm. Is hamburger really an ingredient or is it an dish? I mean when someone says, "I'm going to go to the local "greasy spoon" and get me a hamburger," is there anything secret about that? Wait. I would like to retract my statement. Perhaps it is indeed the ultimate secret ingredient. Suddenly I'm not very hungry. Another thought should replace this tasteless one soon.
Paul has been blogging about our trip to the sushi house. I don't know how to describe it, actually. I believe I enjoyed the outing more than the food itself. I'm sorry, Paul, but sushi is just not my idea of good food. It is very pretty, but in my mouth, it was just ... I'm looking for a description here ... it was just mouth-filling blah. I was looking for texture that was as interesting as the presentation, but I just didn't find it. Maybe it would have helped to have had something stronger to drink, like a coke? I don't know. Anyway, I'm opting out. Next time I'll just watch.
Back to the main event of this week...Rita. The traffic coming out of Houston tonight was moving at a snail's pace of less than three miles per hour. How, exactly, does that happen? You have this four or more lane highway that virtually looks like a parking lot. I'm trying to think of creative ways to make the time pass faster. Perhaps if drivers would jump out of their cars and run up the line and knock on other drivers' windows and say, "Hey! I'm tired of driving behind you! You go drive my car with my family for awhile and I'll drive your car. If we like the arrangement, we'll talk about trading families for the weekend." Seriously, if you've never been in stalemated traffic with children, you have no clue about what's going on in those cars right now. My prayers are with them. They might have been considerably safer staying at home.
OK. That's enough to annoy someone. Keep the faith.

It sounds like the sushi place you went to leaves quite a lot to be desired. If you're ever in Chemnitz again, you should come eat sushi with us! At our favorites sushi place, the food has both pleasing taste and interesting texture. It definitely delivers on what the presentation promises.
I love sushi! ;o)
Love you,
